Very simply, medcomdirect was formed as a response from insurance companies for lower rehabilitation rates.  There has been constant pressure from insurance companies to find ways to lower post-surgical rehabilitation costs.  The most expensive component of a home set-up has been the human element.  Our costs were heavily shifted to the first, and subsequentially, the last days of a rental period.  By shipping equipment directly to a patients home, and including clear concise instructions, AND twenty-four hour telephone support, we are able to noticeably reduce the rental pricing.

This program was designed with the hope that most patients will be able to afford these modalities even if their insurance denies the claim.  With insurance companies attempt to shave benefits, a service that is beneficial to a patient, yet not actually necessary for life, may be limited.  The pricing of the rehabilitation equipment is such that a patient can afford the service, even if their insurance does not offer these modalities as a benefit.
